Green Qual - Booking and cancellation terms and conditions
For Classroom based training - Cancellations that are made at least 28 days before the course start date will receive back their course fee (less the non-refundable deposit of 20% of the full course fee, or 50% of the full course fee for bespoke in-house training bookings). Cancellations of less than 28 clear days, failure to attend without prior notification, candidates asked to leave due to disruptive/unsuitable behaviour, or candidates leaving after attending part of the course will not be refunded. Deposits are strictly non-refundable in all cases.
If you have to cancel your booking, please notify Green Qual in writing. These conditions will not apply if the training event is postponed or cancelled by Green Qual or any of our accredited training centres. Green Qual may allow you to transfer course dates (or re-arrange dates for bepsoke in-house courses) if you are unable to attend your chosen date due to unforeseen circumstances. This will be assessed on a case by case basis.
For Distance Learning Courses - Distance learning courses are completely non-refundable once access has been provided to the training materials. Distance learning training course fees also incorporate a 20% non-refundable deposit. Deposits are strictly non-refundable, even if access to the training materials has not yet been provided at the time of candidate cancellation.
In order to ensure that all candidates progress through training and assessment processes within a reasonable timeframe, time restrictions apply to all course / qualification types - this is a maximum of 4 months from the date of booking (or 3 months for the Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment). Please refer to your Green Qual Learner Agreement for specific details (where applicable). Where the qualification / training is delivered by one of our external third party accredited training centres, the full qualification / course must be completed within 4 months of booking, or as specified in the accredited training centre's Learner Agreement, whichever is the sooner. If you are unable to complete the course within this timeframe then you must contact Green Qual in writing immediately informing us about the circumstances as to why this is not possible. Candidates who do not adhere to these conditions will automatically be removed from their course and will not be entitled to any further training or assessment support or refund. A re-registration fee of up to £495+VAT will be charged for candidates wanting to continue the qualification after this period. Any portfolios stored at the trainer’s premises will be held for 1 year. If candidates want portfolio work returned then a postal charge fee of £20.00 + Vat applies. Candidates can collect portfolio work.
Course evidence (for ABBE, EDI or C&G based qualifications)
All evidence submitted for assessment must be entirely your own work. If there is any suggestion that the evidence provided is not authentic, Green Qual will undertake an investigation. If it is found that the evidence submitted by you is not your personal and original work, then your participation in the programme will be terminated. In such circumstances there will be no refund of any fees.
If any additional evidence is required for submission within your portfolio (as requested by the Assessor, Internal or External Verifier) because you have failed to provide sufficient evidence to meet any of the performance criteria, a charge of £60 + VAT will be made per additional piece of evidence requiring assessment.
Changes to the programme and registration fees (for ABBE, EDI or C&G based qualifications)
Some courses are subject to an ABBE, EDI, or G&G exam and registration fee of up to £290 +VAT for level 3 courses or £410 + VAT for level 4 courses. For level 3 Green Deal qualifications a £230 fee will be applied in all cases (no matter which awarding body is used). These fees are sometimes incorporated within the initial training fee - please check the details of the specific course you are booking on in the event that they are charged separately. If this exam and/or registration fee is included, it will also be indicated on this invoice. Where not included (to enable candidates to spread the cost), this fee will become due upon commencing the assessment process.
The registration and examination fee incorporates one examination sitting (where an exam is applicable to the qualification). If you are required to re-sit the awarding body external examination there will be an additional charge of £50+VAT per re-sit. Examination and registration fees are non-refundable, including circumstances where these services have not been utilised. Candidates will not be registered until they have demonstrated adequate progress towards achieving the qualification. Fees do not include the costs of travel or accommodation incurred by you in attending training courses (where applicable), or any costs incurred whilst training via distance learning, such as telephone or postage costs. These costs are your responsibility alone. Where the training and assessment is delivered by one of our external accredited training centre partners you will be supplied with that centre’s policies and procedures and assessment criteria direct from that centre, which you must adhere to.
The National Occupational Standards (NOS) issued by the relevant Sector Skills Council may be updated periodically. Programmes are based on the NOS as described in the relevant marketing material. Green Qual cannot guarantee that the training programme will comply with any future version of the NOS and accordingly shall not be liable to refund fees or for any other losses suffered by you as a consequence. Following the training course it is your responsibility to keep up-to-date with any relevant area/aspect related to energy assessing and the energy industry.
Green Qual will accept no responsibility for any losses incurred in the event of any changes to Government legislation or policy or any changes resulting from decisions by awarding bodies of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.
The literature supplied in our web site, brochures or verbally is for information purposes only and we ask all candidates who are enrolling onto a course to undertake their own research and satisfy themselves that this course is suitable for their needs and that they understand the level of commitment required to complete the specific course / qualification. Green Qual makes no claims to the amount of work that is available and cannot be responsible for competition levels, changes in fees, energy performance certificate prices or any other factors which may affect you in the future.
The time taken to fully complete each course will vary depending on the candidate’s ability and available time to complete course modules. Average times can be provided, but these are for guidance purposes only. Please refer to the relevant awarding body qualification handbook, which can be found on the awarding body’s website, our website, and is usually also provided as part of the introduction materials we supply.
Some Green Qual training courses and assessment services are delivered by our third party accredited network of specialist training providers. The most suitable provider will be selected based on your location, training needs and available dates, to ensure total convenience. Green Qual reserves the right to change a candidate’s centre at any given time and / or qualification awarding body.
To enable you to complete the training programme (whether distance learning or classroom based), it is essential that you have access to an email account, the internet and Skype. It is your responsibility to ensure you have compatible equipment and software, Green Qual is not liable for any expenses incurred in the acquiring of this equipment.
Admission to a membership scheme, accreditation scheme or similar
Undertaking a programme does not in itself guarantee admission to any membership scheme such as an accreditation/certification scheme for energy assessors, green deal advisors, or similar. No refund of any fees paid by you for training and assessment will be available should you be refused membership of any such scheme for any reason.
Candidates are recommended to investigate the entry requirements for membership of any scheme that they wish to join and establish their suitability for membership. In particular candidates should investigate the costs of joining such a scheme and any requirements that a scheme may have for establishing that members are deemed “fit and proper” persons. It is standard practice for schemes to require you to undergo and pass a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
The full extent of Green Qual arising from any breach of its obligations to you under these Terms or otherwise in connection with any programme shall be limited to the amount of any fee paid by you to Green Qual for the programme. Green Qual shall not be held liable for any loss of profits, indirect, special or other consequential or incidental damage, whether foreseeable or not, arising out of any breach of its obligations to you under these Terms or otherwise in connection with the programme. Nothing within these terms will take precedence over any governing laws (e.g. where applicable, the Cancellation terms will not apply during any legally required ‘cooling off’ periods under distance selling regulations, unless the candidate has commenced the course).
